In Enter the Mystery you have the benefit of four guides. This gives our tour its greater flexibility and it gives you a higher level of care and personal attention. This team has worked easily and competently together since 1996 in support of our travellers.

Do you have a question? Humberto will have the answer! During 15 years of guiding, Humberto has gained a vast store of knowledge of the spectacular land and history of his homeland. He is our resident Incanologist, archaeologist, naturalist, botanist and 'birder'. His sharp eyes miss nothing along the trail and open a rare dimension of Nature lore for our trekkers. He will also introduce you to the Andean cosmovision and the Southern Sky, pointing out the constellations around which all Inca society coordinated their lives and activities.

Humberto has been a part of Enter the Mystery from the start. He fell in love with the sense of adventure and discovery that have characterized our groups. He is acutely sensitive to the needs of our travelers, and has a genius for organizing our porters and equipment, performing nothing short of magic at times to solve challenges.

Humberto takes personal pride in making the Trail the best possible experience. He is a key part in giving our travellers that little extra that they hoped to see or experience while on the Trail...If you have a question, just ask him!

Trained by his grandfather, Don Maximo Singona Pumayala in the traditional forms of healing and ceremony, Puma has a passion for the teachings of his people, and a profound respect for the mountain apus that safeguard and rule his world.

He is a natural leader both in his own community, where he is an elder, and in the international gatherings of young people he attends through the year. He has been a member of the World Wisdom Council and is dedicated to the survival of indigenous cutures. He is a co-founder of Cusi Huayna, a youth group focused on re-strengthening the community through the remembrance of traditional dance, story and weaving.

Fluent in Spanish, English and his native Qetchwa language, Puma brings rare wisdom and open-heartedness to our tours. Wherever he is, Puma adds to the sense of what is possible. Puma's natural buoyancy and playfulness is matched by a deeply felt reverence for his growing "family" of traveller "brothers and sisters.

He turns a clear eye to the future, confident that traditional ways will assist in bringing about global harmony and healing.He will enrich your journey as you experience him one-on-one. He offers ceremony and the ancient oracle of coca leaf readings. With his parents, he hosts our final celebration dinner in their home above Cuzco.

Together with Chidakash, Shera developed the Vision for Enter the Mystery, and adds the unique element that gives the tour the potential to be a truly transformational experience. She has travelled all her life, delighting in meeting and working with others and in playing with the unforeseen opportunities that arise. Shera celebrates the preciousness of all people--co-travellers, children and the people we meet.

In Enter the Mystery these passions have led to the concept of an Inner Journey in which travellers make a parallel journey-of creative self-discovery. In helping guide co-travellers on this inner journey of new insights and personal breakthroughs, Shera draws on 25 years of experience as a healer and counsellor and a background in gestalt and creativity therapy. In addition her personal psychic ability helps others in experiencing and learning to work with subtle energies. Shera has published Inner Expressions, a woman's spiritual journal from which the Enter the Mystery journal has evolved.

As an added bonus Shera's healing skills in Reiki and bodywork will give weary co-travellers welcome relief from sore joints at the end of a days trekking.

Chidakash, co-founder of Serenity Transformational Tours, draws on his experience in a transformational retreat in Canada (see Serenity by the Sea Retreat) to make transformational discoveries a possibility for all who travel with him.
He has always loved travelling because of the connection it gives him with people and cultures in other lands. He has long recognized the profound insights and learning possible when one is open to alternative perspectives in other cultures. Chidakash delights in exploring the world revealed through the eyes of other people. In Enter the Mystery he draws on this passion and insights from in his time in Peru to highlight the special grace and gifts the Qetchwa people can offer our own culture.

A storyteller at heart, he weaves the tantalizing mystery of the Incas into a source rich with lessons for today about Pachamama (Mother Earth), the wonders of Nature and the mystery of cycles, rebirth and destiny-and the ability for people to live in community and in harmony with each other. He believes knowledge of the Incas, their vibrant innovations, and the social stability evident in all they did, can be a source of important universal principles to benefit us all.

During your time in Peru, Chidakash will be on the look-out for additional value and events to splice into your days as the opportunities arise. Chidakash is also a professional bodyworker and has developed his own style of work. His talents are a special treat to trekkers wanting to keep shoulders loose and joints limber.
