Your Guides
You have the benefit of three guides who will give you a higher level of care and personal attention. This team has worked easily and enthusiastically together since 1996.
Fluent in English and his native Qetchwa language, Puma brings a unique wisdom and open-hearted buoyant good humour to our tours. Wherever he is, Puma adds to the sense of what is possible.
He has an unshakeable certainty about the value of traditional ways to bring global harmony and healing.
Trained by his grandfather, Don Maximo Singona Pumayala in the traditional forms of healing and ceremony, Puma has a passion for the teachings of his people, and a profound respect for the mountain Apus that safeguard and rule his world.
A leader both in his own community of Chinchero and in international gatherings, led to his being featured in a TV documentary. He has been a member of, YES (Youth for Environmental Sanity), the World Wisdom Council and international groups dedicated to the survival of indigenous cultures. He is a co-founder of Cusi Huayna, a youth group focused on re-strengthening the community through the remembrance of traditional dance, story and weaving.
The breadth of Puma’s understanding will enrich your journey as you experience him one-on-one. He also looks forward to sharing in service through the ancient oracle of coca leaf readings.
Shera makes the tour a truly transformational experience. She celebrates the preciousness of all people--co-travellers, children and the people we meet, delighting
in working with others and playing with the many unforeseen opportunities that arise for growth and expansion.
This passion led her to the vision of offering an inner journey in our travels which encourages co-travellers to draw on their experiences of the Peruvian journey to discover new insights and empower personal breakthroughs.
Shera draws on 30 years of experience as a gifted healer and counsellor, a background in gestalt and creativity therapy and a remarkable intuitive ability to guide others first to experience--and then to work with--subtle energies. As an added bonus Shera's healing skills in Reiki and bodywork will give weary co-travellers welcome relief from sore joints at the end of a day’s trekking.
Shera is also an artist and writer. She has published Inner Expressions, a woman's spiritual journal (from which our transformational journal has evolved) and several inter-cultural children’s books
has travelled all his life and delights in seeing his world freshly revealed through the eyes of others. He has drawn on these insights and his experiences to create journeys that
change ordinary travel into an adventure of personal transformation.
Chidakash loves to share the wisdom he finds in other cultures. He believes much of the wisdom of the Incas, and their sensitivity to relate to the natural world, survive today in the Qetchwa people. A storyteller at heart, he joins with Puma to weave the tantalizing mystery of the Incas and the gentle life of their Qetchwa descendents into a tapestry rich with lessons for today.
As a result travellers can discover how the special grace and gifts of the Qetchwa people can serve our own culture; how their perspectives on Nature and the world make it possible to imagine and then create greater balance in our lives and a brighter and harmonious future for the planet.
Chidakash is also a professional bodyworker and Author of 30 Ways to Get the Most Out of Travelling Anywhere. With Shera he founded a transformational retreat in 1990 in Canada, Serenity by the Sea Retreat, that continues today.
